Julian Page

Born March 1967

Tum Kazunga

Born August 1972

Key skills:  Marketing &advertising, online marketing, copy writing, fundraising

Management Experience: Former General Manager for a company of 13 in Zambia and currently running my own business in London.

Developing country experience: I’ve lived and worked in Zambia and travelled around Africa. Spent 3 years working as a Corporate Partnerships Manager for an international development NGO based in London.

I am very familiar with most of the issues around poverty reduction and development in Africa, especially agriculture, enterprise development, carbon finance and micro-finance.

Culture and Sport: Interested in most sport, especially football. I enjoy golf and outdoor activities. I like reading and current affairs.

Role as Trustee: Corporate Fund raising, website design, agricultural, enterprise, micro-loans and carbon finance advice .

Niduk Wijayasingha

Niduk has worked both academically and professionally in international development issues, ranging from universalising workers rights, to small holder agriculture and water harvesting.  Born in South Korea, Niduk was raised in South East Asia and North America and has spent her adult life living and working in Europe and East Africa.  She was also previously a Director of an international development NGO.  She is now Principal of small international development advisory firm based in Canada.  She holds degrees from McMaster University in Canada, the London School of Economics and Middlesex University in the UK.

Niduk has been awarded the Max Rotman Humanitarian Award and the Violet Richardson Award for her in Holocaust Education and work in the community in Canada.

Joas Kahembe

Born July 1942

KEY SKILLS

• Competence in development: building a school from scratch in Ngendabi with private international funding. Started the Waang’warai primary school development scheme, leading a street orphanage project team
• Management experience: Sales, export, accountancy, recruitment, strategy, logistics, project management, budgeting, planning and evaluation, research, inspections and auditing, office management including personnel management, recruitment, appraisal, and performance management.
• Developing country experience Lives and works in Tanzania all of his life.

Education: High School / Diploma in Export Promotion, Helsinki School of Economics; Coffee Liquorer- Mild Coffee Trade of East Africa.

Employment: Bukoba Co-op Union (1964-65), Mild Coffee Trade (1966), Coffee Board Export (1967-72), Export Corporation (1973-1979) Self Employed (1980-91), Kahembe’s Trekking and Cultural Safari (1992 – to date)

Consultancy: Has closing working relationships with the Manyara District Commissioner, Education Officer. Tanzania Tourist Board Director, Lutheran Church Officialdom, the Babati community, the Manyara Holistic Centre (Street Orphan Project), Development Actors Network in Babati, Ngendabi Education Development Project.

Trustee Role: On the ground director of tour operations and local management of bookings, links with business and associations, LTT representative on development committees, maintaining and developing links with local and national authorities, newsletter writing, local fund raising, local accounting.
