10k Charity Run!

Calling all supporters! LTT have been given a number of charity places in The British 10K London Run taking place in central London on 8th July 2012. We are looking for runners to join us and help raise money for the renovation of classrooms at the Managha Primary School, 10km outside of Babati town. You do not have to be a Paula Radcliffe or a Usain Bolt to take part, just enthusiasm and a minimum sponsorship of £100…

The route starts at Hyde Park Corner and takes in Trafalgar Square, Somerset House, St. Paul’s Cathedral and Tower Bridge before turning back along the river, through Westminster and onwards past Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards.  The route is part of that used for the London Marathon and will also be used for the Olympic Marathon – raising money and enjoy London’s historic sites at the same time? What an excellent idea.

If you are interested in running or want some more information please drop an email to Alix@livingstonetanzaniatrust.com

JULY 2011

cooling offSimon Page, brother of the founder Julian, cycled from Marble Arch to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, a distance of 276 miles in 23 hours and 20 minutes on the 9th-10th July 2011.

He cycled with a team of others all cycling for their own charity. We wee delighted to be rubbing shoulders with some other fantastic charities.

Prior to the big day Simon cycled at least 70 miles in practice every day, the sheer levels of dedication is staggering. Simon, at 49 is easily the oldest in the group.Simon seemed to have gained 5 minutes of fame  after a video clip of him being attached by a driver went viral and he was contacted by the Evening Standard and others who ran the story resulting in the man handing himself into a Police station and receiving a fine. The compensation was given to us.

Simon was cycling to raise money to buy books for the Waangwaray Primary school and raised £2099

Simon used the the Bmycharity.com website to help collect donations.  http://www.bmycharity.com/L2P24
