The Livingstone Tanzania Trust have been invited by the Girl guides of Tanzania and the Waangwaray Scouts to ask for assistance in establishing guides and scouting in Babati and for the groups from anywhere in the world to come and visit Babati and undertake community and school development work.
To organise this we work closely with Inspire Worldwide www.inspire-worldwide.com who specialise in bespoke group travel.
When I visited the girl guides of Arusha i was amazed at the confidence, maturity and enterprise of the organisation. They offer each other unconditional support and try to counsel others who are dealing with the harsh reality of poverty. Issues such as premarital sex, HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, domestic violence, self empowerment and poverty alleviation. There is much these girls can teach UK groups and I am sure much the UK girls can teach their Tanzanian counterparts. Through meeting, learning and understanding we can help build life long friendships and start to have a positive impact on the wider community.
The Scouting movement in Babati is well established and aside from helping out in the community they get to go on lots of cross country hikes to places of great beauty. This is an amazing opportunity to make friends and broaden your horizons.
If you run a girl guide or scouts troop we would like to hear from you
