Holy Trinity
Summer 2011
Nikki Morgan (Head), Abi Hann (Deputy Head), Tina Panners (Real Head) and her daughter Ellie and Hattie Crowdon-Armfield came out to Babati for a week and helped us build the store. we took them to see the different communities and the different women’s groups and they were truely moved by the passion and optimism and happiness of the women that when they later heard of the plight of the Sawe women who’d lost their piglets, they donated funds to cover tehir losses. The women have written to thank them click on KIMASA Women to read it.
Once back at school all have started to fund raise for our book programme and we are very excited by their progress
8th June 2010.
Julian was delighted to attend assembly at the the Holy Trinity C of E Primary School, Effra Road, SW19, London. The young people and staff had been fundraising for us, from T’shirt sales, sponsored swims, runs, reading, turning off the electricity and acrobatics dance. They raised a FANTASTIC £3850.00
This is a phenonimal achievement and we are so excited and grateful to all those whose hard work raised the money and to all those generous people who paid the money. On behalf of everyone in Waangwaray a massive thank you to everyone.
The original plan was to plant some fruit trees and this was achieved, but there is so much more we can do with this money than we had hoped. We have a number of ideas that we want to follow up and we will see how we progress, these ideas will include a library, a reading competition and more.
Julian returned in September and explained that the funds were used to help renovate a kindergarten.
A number of the teachers are coming out in the summer of 2011 to see the progress meet the kids, the teachers and get involved in the some new projects.
