Safeguarding and Child Protection

Safeguarding is something we take extremely seriously. Across all our programmes and activities we ensure that measures are in place to protect people from potential harm.

To ensure that these measures are effective and appropriate we regularly talk through the issue with our host communities, with an emphasis on what is appropriate within our different cultures. We also hold regular refresher training with our local development partner focusing on the complexities of safeguarding issues within their work.

We updated our agreement on what is acceptable and unacceptable behaviour and what reporting processes need to be followed should one suspect or witness unacceptable behaviour. We also collaborate with our volunteer partner Inspire-Worldwide to ensure the safety of the volunteers, as well as the children and vulnerable adults in Tanzania.
